Notice. Accept. Appreciate.

Updated: Mar 8, 2022

Happy Valentine's Day!

Wish you could stay on a healthy path today despite all the extra chocolate and special treats? Your wish is granted! You can!

Here’s the short answer how: Include yourself in your celebrations of love. Doing this will summon greater internal peace – a necessary part of living healthfully. Because being healthy is more than just knowing what food to eat.

Here are F.N.'s top three recommendations for how to include yourself in your celebrations of love:

1. Tell your body, 'Thank you. I love you.' Your body does so much for you. Express your appreciation to it by saying something like: "Thank you, body, for making it possible for me to walk, talk, breathe, laugh, and hug the people I love!"

Tell yourself encouraging words when making healthy decisions: "I'm doing this because I love my body! I want it to be strong and energetic!"

2. Truly enjoy your favorite foods and drinks! Give yourself the opportunity to eat or drink something that tastes good.

What do you love about this food or drink? Is it hot, or cold...creamy, or crunchy...salty, or sweet? Notice this mini pleasure.

>>Speaking of mini pleasure, there's a quick recipe for a tasty treat in last week's Short Tip! It’s delicious, fun, and better for your body!

3. Notice, accept and appreciate yourself AS👏 YOU 🙌 ARE 👏You can always set higher goals for yourself, but remember: it takes time for a seed to grow into a mature plant and bloom!

Notice characteristics about yourself that you're proud of. Notice how far you've come. Notice how you're growing. Give yourself a hug, a high five, a pat on the back...! We're ALL perfectly imperfect, and if you're still here, you've still got opportunities to grow. Congratulations on all your progress!
