Find Wellness in One Moment

The idea of health and wellness can be overwhelming if you let yourself really think about it. But perhaps that's where part of the struggle of getting healthy lies: overthinking.
There's enough information about food and nutrition available to support you with living a life that feels good. That's why being healthy matters anyway, right? You just want to feel good! Er, fabulous... And you can: one moment at a time.
It's too easy to get caught up in thinking about tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. Where do you want to be, who do you want to be, what do you want to be doing, what do you want to have?
Goals are our compass, and a compass is a good tool to have if you want to know where you're going. But it's less important to focus on the "destination" than it is to focus on the here and now. After all, it is moment by moment that unfolds into tomorrow.
Chances are, you have enough knowledge to make a decision you feel good about right at this moment. Slowing down can lead you to a decision and action you can live with, no matter what your previous decisions and actions were.
How can you safely find wellness in one moment? The possibilities are endless and that's an answer only you can give. Here are a few ideas to get your creative juices flowing:
Hit the pause button. Take some deep breaths. Notice your emotions and how they're making you feel.
Accept your decision to eat/drink (insert food/beverage here).
Eat or drink something with pleasure.
Plan a meal or snack.
Stop thinking about food. Have fun! Laugh!
Move your body in a way that feels good: walk, stretch, dance, spin in a circle...
