I've been known to say, "I don't love to cook, I just love to eat what I cook."

Having parents who both know how to cook and bake amazing food, working mainly in restaurants and foodservice kitchens, and the drive to learn more for the people I serve has taught me a lot about cooking.

 

Now, recent reflection has got me thinking the first part of that statement may not be 100% true. But one thing's for sure, I would definitely rather be outside having fun with my family: exploring, hiking, climbing, biking, playing...

I'm sure there are so many other things you'd rather be doing than cooking, too.

​

Yet, the fact is: we need to eat! We have a family to feed! And because we love them, we accept the challenge.

 

But just because getting food on the table for multiple people with different appetites can be challenging doesn't mean it always has to feel boring, annoying or complicated.

​

I created Master Meal Planning: Get food on the table with ease and have fun doing it for a lot of reasons: the number one being that so many people, especially moms, have expressed the need for it. The second is to make it feel less challenging - after all, we eat three meals a day plus snacks and dessert... it's a pretty huge part of our lives! So we need a way to enjoy it and make it work for us, from our schedules and hobbies, to our health needs and taste preferences.

 

Oh, and way back when, I used to resist planning ANYTHING, thinking that planning created restriction and took away my freedom to be creative or spontaneous.

The truth is, planning our meals is a pathway to having greater variety with the food we eat, reducing the occurrence of hangry episodes, staying on track with our preferred eating style, and ending more days feeling full and happy. It's simply a means of contributing more energy and joy into our lives!
